Expanded polysterene

Η Expanded polysterene (EPS - Expanded polystyrene), is a lightweight, thermal insulation material used in construction and other applications. As they swell, the grains grow and become pellets, which swell more and stick together. Expanded polystyrene is produced in large blocks, which are cut into slabs or molds directly in the form of mold, such as boxes, trays for seedlings, etc. The name styrofoam comes from the first known company in Greece that produced it, which sold cork insulation. The scientifically correct terminology is Expanded Polystyrene because the raw material of EPS is produced by the polymerization of styrene, but the name polystyrene has prevailed to this day.
